The Voice is returning to NBC for its 30th season with a new coaching lineup, a three-night premiere event and a performance opportunity for the eventual winner. Season 30 begins Monday, September 21, at 8 p.m. ET, with episodes also scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday during premiere week. New episodes will stream on Peacock the following day.
Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine are returning as coaches, while Queen Latifah and country artist Riley Green will make their debuts in the show’s red chairs. Carson Daly is also back to host his 30th season of the singing competition. The season will begin with the Blind Auditions, continuing the format’s familiar opening stage in which artists perform for the coaches as they decide whether to turn their chairs.
NBC’s first official trailer, released September 9, previews the competitive and comic tone of the new season. Queen Latifah pitches herself to an artist by emphasizing her ability to lead a team, while Levine acknowledges that the new coaching combination could create problems for the competition. Green’s dog, Carl, appears in the trailer, and Clarkson offers one of her hair extensions during a Blind Audition pitch.
The four coaches have also performed together to launch the milestone season. Green starts a rendition of The Band’s 1968 song “The Weight” on acoustic guitar, followed by Levine on drums and vocals. Queen Latifah takes the second verse and encourages Green during his part, while Clarkson delivers the final energetic section. The group then joins in harmony, giving viewers an early showcase of the musical chemistry among the returning and first-time coaches.
Season 30 will introduce a new reward for its champion. The winner is set to perform at the 2027 Governors Ball music festival in Queens, New York, creating a major post-show stage for the artist who claims the title. Carson Daly described the partnership as an opportunity to see the next winner perform at the festival, while executive producer and showrunner Audrey Morrissey said the arrangement could provide additional exposure and help the champion develop stage presence after the competition.
The production has also added a personalized detail to Green’s chair: a holster designed for his signature cowboy hat. Filming continues at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California, where The Voice has been filmed for years. NBC has described the season as a milestone chapter for the series, combining two returning coaches with two newcomers as the competition moves from Blind Auditions to Battles and later rounds.
Before the new episodes begin, Peacock is offering past highlights from Season 29, including performances and emotional moments from the previous competition. Those collections feature Season 29 winner Alexia Jayy, runner-up Liv Ciara, and finalists Mikenley Brown and Lucas West. Season 30 of The Voice premieres September 21 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with next-day streaming on Peacock.
