The teams for Season 16 of The Voice of Germany are beginning to take shape after the third episode, with more than 100 talents set to appear across the season. The latest overview from Joyn lists which singers have advanced and which coach they joined.
The coaching line-up remains unchanged from the previous season. Rea Garvey, Shirin David, Nico Santos and Michi Beck and Smudo are again competing to build the strongest teams. After Rea Garvey and Shirin David led the early distribution of successful contestants in the first two episodes, the balance has become more even following Episode 3.
Each coach now has between four and six talents, according to the overview. Michi Beck and Smudo’s Team Fanta had been behind the other teams but moved closer to the rest with two new singers. The published list includes performances of songs by artists such as Rebecca Ferguson, Céline Dion, The Sweet, Avril Lavigne, Nirvana and Tori Amos among the season’s Blind Auditions.
Nico Santos currently has the most eye-catching position. His five talents include four contestants who received a four-chair turn, as well as one singer who prompted three coaches to turn. That gives the reigning winning coach a particularly strong early line-up, although the eventual strength of the team will only become clear in the episodes ahead.
The singers listed for Rea Garvey’s team performed songs including “I See Red” by Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Herbert Grönemeyer’s “Der Weg,” Seal’s “Love’s Divine” and Berq’s “Blauer Ballon.” Team Fanta’s published performers include songs by Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Bad Bunny and Lucio Dalla.
Nico Santos’ team features Darwin “Daris” Sanchez Pereyra, whose appearance is identified as coming in Episode 3, alongside contestants connected with Blind-Audition songs by Bon Iver, Benno! and Josh Groban. Shirin David’s team is also represented in the overview, with songs including “Talking To The Moon,” “Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down,” “If I Were A Boy,” “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Caruso” included among the listed auditions. Further episodes will determine whether Santos can turn his promising start into the season’s strongest team.
